Inspired by the film Festival (1996) by Im Kwon-taek, Korean funerals generally last three days, the most extensively scaled ceremony in one's life.

It comes from the tradition of commemorating the deceased, but also it is to consulate those who are left, for those who have to live on. 3 days of gathering can be interpreted as a festival regarding "the sentiments of the survivors".
